New business fields for media product logistics discussed at the DAKO Kompass Logistik 4.0
New business fields for media product logistics discussed at the DAKO Kompass Logistik 4.0
The 2nd edition of the event series "DAKO Kompass Logistik 4.0" on 19 November 2019 was dedicated to the profound change in publishing and media product logistics and the opportunities arising from the growing parcel market and new digital tools. More than 70 interested parties from the media logistics sector listened to specialist presentations on digitalisation and sustainability in distribution transport and took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas in the practical forum. These included new research projects for the digital support of cooperative logistics and experiences with multi-use models in practice.

The participants agreed that cooperation is an important instrument for the future of media logistics. Standards for digital data exchange are essential for this. The live demonstrations on automatic route planning in TachoWeb and shipment management with hybriLOG showed what possibilities already exist for digital solutions. You can read a summary of the event here: https://www.dako.de/rueckblick-kompass-logistik/ (only in German)
Important: De-minimis 2020 funding period begins on January 7
Important: De-minimis 2020 funding period begins on January 7
From 7th January 2020, all enterprises that paid toll fees last year in Germany can partially recover their expenses through the toll harmonisation programme De-minimis. Applications can be submitted through the eService-Portal of the German Federal Office for Goods Transport. The forms will be made available on the portal in good time, probably from 2 January 2020. Changes in the catalogue of measures concern winter tyres and subsidies for turn assistants. The acquisition and operation of telematics solutions such as TachoWeb will remain eligible. Just like last year, the budget regulation applies, so companies do not have to commit themselves to concrete measures.

The planned cuts in the De-minimis budget in the federal budget caused displeasure among transport associations. Presumably, 40 million euros less funding will be available next year than in 2019. This is particularly critical since the 2019 funding pot was already exhausted in March. Early applications are therefore worthwhile, since the period for implementing measures will be longer, too.
